The Great Katiomay

You stand before a door as black as night itself. There is no handle, no knocker, nothing. Beside you on the door is only a plaque that reads "Abandon All Hope Ye Who Enter Here." You swallow hard, but there is no turning back. As you step forward the door swing open to greet you, and ahead lies only an inky blackness where anything could wait in store.

9/17/12

An update today based mostly on filling you in. Beyond A Tiger's Stripes has been edited up to chapter 5 (I stopped in the middle of the chapter a terrible thing to do I know). I was planning to move across country to live with a friend in Tennessee but I've decided to stay here and try to start over instead, trouble is that that means moving back in with my mother. I know I've been neglecting my books and my writing as a whole which is terrible practice because the only way my writing will get better is if I keep writing. But on that note I've learned a few things thanks to several posts from the writing section of Reddit. Not to mention the WorldBuilding forum as well (Is it called a forum if its from Reddit?). I've drawn up the map of my world although its far from finalized.
It's only the political map of the BATS world, showing the different countries and islands. In the mean time I'll edit more and hopefully finish that map.

Fixing

So I fixed my twitter. I can be found at @katiomay (I know essentially I just said "at" twice). Also fumbled around with tumblr a bit more. I intend to start drawing daily once this whole moving situation is under control.

Finally a little progress!

After getting blown off a couple hundred times the first edit is done! I was so happy to get it done I started on my first rewrite. Got to chapter three on that. Let's just say I'm changing a little more than I first realized. Added two pages on to the first chapter alone.

Finally editing again

Got up to chapter 12. Found out I probably need to rewrite the whole last chapter and I should never write with a outline. It makes me rush from one thing to another and now I'll probably have to do a third edit to slow everything down.

Forever and a day

See what happens when my phone updates? I never get on blogger because I lost the app when the phone updated and I'm only now getting it back.

Book updates; me and nic still need to update the last few chapters but we haven't had the same days off in several weeks so it's been hard to manage.
I was also convinced to write Tell Me What Love Is. (Melissa's fault.) Which is pretty much just a love story but it's boy x boy.

I've also gone back and started playing the Zelda games from the beginning. On Wind Waker now. I love the graphics but I miss the more story driven aspect of Ocarina of Time. Btw Majoras Mask was awful. I hate minigames and that's all that game was. Bleh.

One Kiss

It was a kiss as painful as sin. As deadly as poison. It was the first kiss she ever received from. And it would be her last. Her heart clenched at the light embrace as she turned to face her demise.

Fixing things

Edited up to chapter 5 today. Also found out that the first page of the sequel I started didn't get deleted as I first thought. Of course that means I'll have to figure out which one I like better out of the two.

Let's do this!

K started working with my editor on fixing bits and pieces. We're starting in on chapter two now.

Finished editing and sent to my other editor for her to look over.

Editing 1 and my other Editor

Got up to chapter 13 today. Now 90% done with my edit. Talked to my editor and told her what to look out for and what my major concerns were for when she starts reading. Not sure if we're gonna go chapter by chapter or if she'll just read it all and then go back over it.

Editing BATS

Got up to chapter ten the other day but I'm hiding in my room today. My cousins are over with their kids and I'm not good with kids. I probably won't get any writing done today with them running around and screaming.

Thief Chronicles

Beyond A Tiger's Stripes aka BATS Technically it's a rewrite of the third book of my very first series. That is, a rewrite of Forsaken Wind. But many of the elements have changed. She no longer has the power of the wind element but beyond that it's almost the same story. Tiger, the thief with a golden heart, is still our heroine, and she's still traveling with Nevon to stop the manically Prince Ravus. The main difference now is that the book is basically a love story. The odd couple come from two different worlds with two very different sets of beliefs in what's right and what's wrong. But the more Nevon tries to express his feeling the more Tiger pulls away. Price of a Striped Pelt aka PSP Tiger comes looking for Nevon claiming he's the only one that can help her. He quickly finds out that she has assassins tailing her. Apparently Ravus wasn't the only one after the thief, but if that's the case who's the one pulling the strings this time? *Third book still untitled* A war is starting and only Madia(Tiger) and Nevon know who the real villain is, but no one believes them. This time it's more than just their lives on the line, and this time it's personal. The remaining books are all the children's stories. A Wolf in Man's Clothing - The thief Wolf discovers that slavers are kidnapping and selling off people from the islands ruled by his kingdom. Saint and Sinner - (possible title change) A priestess discovers the only way to help save her people is with the help of a demon *Untiled* - A group of slaves are forced into gladiator fights, a mysterious young man from the mainland shows up and claims he can save them. *Untitled* - The twins wind up shipwrecked on a an island they've never heard of. They have to find each other before the man that's trying to kill them finds them.

How It All Began

I've been reading my whole life and in middle school I really sat down and started writing. I filled out whole notebooks of stories. The first book I ever wrote was Lady of the Woods, it was about a lost princess with the power over earth. The sequel was Daughter of the Dragons with a girl who was the younger sister of the main villain. She ran away from her wicked brother and found friends among a group of dragons. Then came Forsaken Wind, where a thief named Tiger and a merchant boy named Nevon tried to stop the villain from using a magical weapon to take over the world. Each of the girls had magical powers over certain elements that the evil prince Ravus was desperate to steal. Obviously they were earth, fire, wind and then came water. The problem occurred with the girl from the water book. I hated her. She was weak, a real crybaby and a pushover. No matter how I tried to fix what I thought was an aggravating character to write, I couldn't seem to make it work. And with that the series ended. I completely lost the series and the planned fifth book Child of Magic. In high school I started to write again but this time it was a scifi book instead of my normal fantasy genre. I started writing about a group of children in an apocalyptic world ruled by aliens. When the rest of mankind is enslaved these young boys are the only hope left. This trilogy became The Rebirth Series and the first books I've had published. The Nix was published as my graduation gift from my parents. It can be found on Amazon.com for $19.95. The description reads; "Malone and a group of abandoned kids begin to fight off an alien race that live in dome cities and have enslaved the human race. With the help of an ambassador of the Coralian race, and the technology she supplies, the kids just might have a chance. That is, if the Nix ruler, Janiera Beckii, doesn't turn them all into mutated monsters or continues killing them. And if Malone can learn to trust his own people." A New Fight (Sequel to The Nix) was also self published through a company called Publish America. It's also priced at $19.95 on Amazon.com and the description reads as follows. "Four years after they took down the first dome city, Malone and his crew still struggle to fight the Nix and save their people. With a new crew full of aliens and a Coralian threatening to take Arissa away from him, Malone's hands are full. The news of a Nix weapon that destroys planets brings the group closer as they try to find a way to save Earth. But with Janiera pushed to the edge and willing to do whatever it takes to kill Malone and his crew, with a stronger fleet, and a stronger weapon how will the boys manage to survive? What will happen with his new crew and, more importantly, what will happen between Malone and Arissa?" The last book of the series is The Edison's New Crew. The final book is also on Amazon.com for $19.95 and was published by Publish America. The description reads; "When the crew of The Edison stumbles upon an empty Nix ship, they find the last thing they expected. One bad thing leads to another now that they have a Nix girl aboard. Why would Malone allow one his enemies to stay with them? What will happen now that the crew is threatening to leave, when Arissa's life is coming to an end, and a crew member has fallen in love with the last person they should have? Malone is driven to the brink trying to deal with his crew and save Earth in this final chapter of The Rebirth Series."
